Dreaming of Chelsea

I cannot believe it was a year ago that I was rushing up to the RHS Chelsea flower show as part of an international group of volunteers recruited by Joe Massie to help create “Rosa”.

Joe Massie, himself a five times Gold Medal Winner at Chelsea, was commissioned by the Royal Horticultural Society to create a floral installation in celebration of Her Majesty the Queen’s 90th Birthday.

Its not everyday that you help create a floral tunnel spanning 10metres by 20 metres and suspended 4 metres from the ground but thats what we did. We worked with 5000 fresh cut Avalanche Roses from Meijer Roses and 1000 preserved petals that danced from invisible thread.

Joe’s design was truly awe inspiring with delicate hues from Pink to Peach to Ivory creating the most romantic of visions and it was a wonderful opportunity to be able to learn from one of the most innovative floral designers. I thoroughly recommend the UK School of Floristry that Joe runs from Liverpool – various courses are offered throughout the year and I believe you never stop learning.

If any of my Brides would like their own floral tunnel, I know how to create it for you …..obviously at a price!
