Our blog today comes from a collaborative photo shoot we took part in a few months ago with some of our favourite wedding suppliers including Helen Rushton Photography, Pomp and Petals, Hampshire Slate and Eye Candy. The fantastic So You Are Getting Married wedding blog published the shoot which you can see here.
Our setting for our photo shoot was the beautiful Sopley Mill on the Dorset/Hampshire border. This venue was chosen for not only for being a stunning canvas for showing off our dresses, but also its where Hayley from BOW is getting married! We will be posting photos of the big day next May!
For the photoshoot we went for a Enid Blyton high tea theme. We felt this was perfect for the setting as you could imagine the Famous Five cycling to the Mill and having picnics on the grass, paddling in the river and lashings of ginger beer. Many of Enid’s books were based on Dorset where she used to holiday and the venue’s location on a river and close to the sea fitted perfectly.
We chose dresses for the shoot which reflected the Famous Five era, with lots of vintage style lace and delicate pretty detail in sequins and beading. All of the dresses were handmade in the UK and we loved that this went with the very English feel of the shoot. Designers used were Chanticleer, Stewart Parvin, Blue Bridalwear and Suzanne Neville.
Anyway enough from us, we will let the pictures do the talking!
